Cheerful post today. My mate Jan had a fab birthday do this year, booking a cottage in little Welsh seaside place for the weekend. I had a lovely time with lovely people, lots of food and much too much drink as you'd expect. Dancing music from last century by the irrepressible Shane DMC (favourite overhead conversation: 'Only problem with Shane is there's no off switch.' Answered by 'And no volume control'.) We did have the worst Sunday lunch ever in a local hotel which was in a time warp back to 1950s post war rationing, over cooked cabbage and bisto gravy. It all added to the charm, though. My favourite bit of all was a circular walk along the coast (okay, I did almost get us all wiped out by a train), turning inland and finding a decent pub with good beer...
