It's all a bit of a blur now, but I had a lovely time on holiday in Denmark this summer with family... Historically, family is a vexed concept for me but because of those Reimers I'm beginning to get it! Some of the loveliest times were of, of course, spent with Olivia, especially up at the summer house, and most especially on our walks to the beach to build sandcastles. There was a great day at the beach too when lots of family came to the summerhouse and we played frisbee on the beach. Nice night out in Aalborg with Krede and Rasmus where we played pool in Fast Eddie's - I used the picture of my best ever pool shot, a snooker on Rasmus, as my screen-saver for a good while (I'd post it here but now I can't find it now!). While we were in Denmark, refugees from Syria and elsewhere had begun to arrive and it was amazing on the one hand and horrifying on the other to see the different reactions (repeated all over Europe), from sympathy and hospitality to hatred and hostility. I loved being in the botanical garden park in Arhus for a gathering to offer a welcome to refugees. Very proud of Tine who put on a yoga event in aid of refugees... Back in UK, although our governent has acted with shameful disdain, our local council has been at the forefront of those offering refugees homes. There is good stuff in the world only because good people take action. And here are two people with good chins!
